GOD’S EYE VIEW Subheading- Worshiping Your Wayto a Higher Perspective.
(c) 2002 Thomas Nelson Publishers-Nashville pp.211 price 37.95 hard cover
Tommy Tenney- author (God Chasers) has been in itinerant ministry for over twenty years.

Ch.1. Pick Me Up Daddy!
Worship has the capacity to lift us from our threatening circumstances to a place of peace and security. It is a change of perspective. Worship is a threat to Satan. We cannot worship through others. A genuine encounter with God cannot be scheduled and it is not limited to a planned program.
Ch.2. The Virtue of Zero.
We are most eligible for God’s service when we are at" ground zero", when we recognize our bankruptcy. Our task is not to preserve but to plant. "Our God is more interested in developing your character and pursuing His purpose than in meeting any kind of earthly time scedule." p.39. e.g.The story of Lazarus.
Ch.3. No P.D.A. (Public Display of Affection)
Our church culture has P.P.P. (passion police patrol) to make sure there is no P.D.A. Worship without passion is really complacency. There are many examples from scripture about passionate people whose severe needs were met.
Ch.4,. Discover the Power of Position.
There is a great differnce between a request that is made by an unknown child and a son or daughter. We come into God’s presence as children to a father, not to demand but to request. We have a devine position in Christ and we need to respond with human passion as we come into His presence.
Ch. 5. How To Make A Fool Out Of The Devil.
Confession makes the accuser look bad. God doesn’t remember confessed sin. Satan is not pleased with our privileged position in God’s presence.
Ch. 6. The Principle of Magnification.
The challenges of life are seriously impacted by the perspective from God’s presence ,worship, Magnify the Lord not your circumstances as you worship. e.g. Abraham, the man of faith. Rising above our circumstances is the result of a decision. Paul and Silas worshiped in prison.
Ch.7. Reclaiming Worship.
"Worship is the jugular vein of life in God’s kingdom." p.121. The story of Job is used to illustrate the significance of worship. Focus on the worship not the worship leaders. Worship makes a church gathering different from any other gathering, e.g. country club. God tends to respond when we are totally without resources. Worship is an option when we hit bottom.
Ch.8. The Power Of Proximity.
Abraham’s mountain top experience illustrates God’s power in a place of worship. As Abraham was ascending the mountain with his ‘problem’, God’s solution was ascending from the other side. The blessing is at the top of the mountain., not part way up. We have the option of drawing near to God.
Ch. 9. Claim Your Backstage Pass.
When John wept because there was no one to open the seal his was a problem of perspective. "Worship is God’s backstage pass providing privileged access." p.165. The author looks at the scenarios described by John that take place in heaven at the last times.
Ch 10. Costumed Characters.
"Deception and continued terror are the devil’s stock in trade." p. 184. The reality is that he is a defeated foe. An importantpart of worship is service. Worship is key in trhese days ot "the grand finale of our existence.
Comment. hd
This is another author’s understanding of the prominence and place of worship in the church and individuals in the church. He uses many analogies to illustrate his understanding of how worship is key in the life of an individual and the church. Some of his illustrations are a bit weak or misplaced. The father/child relationship is at times ‘over spiritualized’. This book would be helpful in a library of books on worship.
