We have here a story of a man who is uniquely gifted and has had an amazing ministry in different places of the world. The story reads like an autobiography. Joel’s stories are amazing beginning with his ministry as a sixteen year old to an African village by himself through an interpreter where a powerful chief became a Christian. The stories go on from there.

As a teenager Joel visits a refugee camp in Adjumani, Uganda and meets an amazing church. His experiences and travels take him to many parts of the ‘unreached’ world. He experiences profound ministry which very often is demonstrated by transformation through discipleship.

Joel explains the place and significance of giving and prayer in ministry. Compassion is always an important part of effective ministry. It is important to have a balanced response to the ‘information overload’ about valid needs that happens to us because of mass media. Suffering, persecution and even martyrdom are still very much a part of the experiences of many believers in many parts of the world today.

The experience of ministry during the 2004 Tsunami is related. The ultimate power for effective ministry is the power of the Holy Spirit flowing through obedient, committed servants. Through each of his experiences, Joel embodies how one person can make an impact for Jesus Christ.
