Book Review
Carson, Ben. Murphy, Cecil. Gifted Hands. The Ben Carson Story. Zondervan. 1990
Comment. Henry.
This a gripping story of a man who is making a huge contribution to his fellow-man as a neurological surgeon. He was raised by a single mother along with his older brother Curtis in an economically challenged environment. She taught her boys some very valuable life lessons about developing a sound value system.
Ben worked hard and excelled as a student. Early in his life he knew he would become a doctor. He became the professor and director of neurosurgery at John’s Hopkins Medical Institutions. His experience as a surgeon is a long story of thrilling surgeries helping children who had been given up by other medical professionals. Ben truly has Gifted Hands and is using them and his extensive knowledge to help needy children and in some cases adults.
This is an inspiring read with story after story that grips the heart and encourages the soul.
